The Office of Institutional Advancement at Saint Michael's College invites applications for a major gift officer based in the Boston area. As a frontline fundraiser, this position is charged with creating meaningful connections with Saint Michael’s alumni, parents, and friends, resulting in a pipeline of financial support for the college. This position will also be an active team contributor within Institutional Advancement, supporting colleagues for regional and on-campus events and other strategic initiatives as assigned.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Creates meaningful relationships with alumni, parents, and friends to bring them close to the College
- Qualifies, cultivates, solicits, and stewards prospects, donors, and volunteers to create a pipeline for annual, major, and planned gift support
- Manages a minimum of two Reunion classes
- Coordinates with IA leadership and campus colleagues to execute a coordinated strategy for alumni and parent engagement activities

Requirements:
Applicants must have the following:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience in the development/advancement field, with a preference for a background in higher education
- Understanding and support for Catholic higher education
- Ability to work independently as well as be a team player; maintain a professional, collegial manner at all times with colleagues, donors, and volunteers
- Understand and appreciate the department goals and how they fit into the larger objectives and mission of the College
- Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Demonstrate unquestioned professional and personal integrity, combined with a strong strategic orientation
- Enthusiasm for and willingness to travel extensively on behalf of the College
- Ability to work nights and weekends
