JOB SUMMARY:
The Office of Alumni Affairs and Development is seeking a collaborative and goal-oriented team player at The Cooper Union, a leading college in arts, architecture, and engineering undergraduate education. While The Cooper Union is small, it has played an important role through its graduates’ impact on New York City and the world as well as through its well-respected community outreach programs and its illustrious Great Hall. It is an exciting time to be at Cooper as it continues to move the needle on returning to full-tuition scholarships for all undergraduate students. The Office of Alumni Affairs and Development plays a key role in this effort and is looking for a strong, detail-oriented candidate to join its dynamic team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Accurate and timely entry of all
gifts into Slate CRM system.
• Manage and track stewardship of donations including the
production of all acknowledgement letters
• Manage annual endowment reporting to donors
• Handle gift planning paperwork
• Liaise with the Business Office with respect to gifts,
reconciliation, and gift planning related issues
• Liaise with campus partners involved with awarding scholarships
and prizes and gather student thank you submissions for donor
stewardship purposes
• Follow up with donors who work for companies that match employee
donations
• Collaborate with IT in managing database hygiene in terms of gift
entry and anything else pertinent to a highly functioning and clean
database
• Participate in other departmental initiatives and handle other
tasks and duties as requested
SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS:
• Detail-oriented with high
accuracy.
• Computer proficiency in CRMs and Microsoft Office as well as
ability to quickly learn new systems
• Strong team player
• Reliable and punctual
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Good typing and proofreading skills
• Sound judgment and discretion
• Ability to take initiative, work independently, prioritize work,
manage time, and effectively manage multiple projects.
• Possess excellent written, verbal, organizational and
interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work both in-person and remotely (hybrid work
situation)
• Knowledge of development concepts
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree
Annual pay $56,000
