Life Story Club is seeking a highly motivated individual to help support all aspects of our small organization’s strategic fundraising and communications efforts, designing and implementing a set of activities aimed at increasing contributed income and raising visibility for the organization.

We are looking for someone with fundraising experience and a track record of crafting and implementing development and communication strategies to help drive impact across multiple platforms for donor audiences and more broadly.

Must be highly organized, hands-on, and mission-oriented. You are excited about the potential to use storytelling and technology to drive impact and foster social connection.

Responsibilities include:

  • Designing and implementing multi-channel individual donor campaigns based on the annual fundraising plan and segmented donor lists.
  • Working with the Executive Director and leadership team to support board committees, prospecting, major gift cultivation, and fundraising campaigns.
  • Organizing small donor events
  • Producing content /Implementing content strategy enabling us to better reach and serve older adults, healthcare partners, caregivers, and donors. Content will include: annual reports, monthly newsletters, blog posts, social posts, and promo videos.
  • Setting social engagement goals that map to the organizations’ goals, and tracking audience engagement across platforms.
  • Administering social accounts, and developing a consistent presence and voice across platforms.

Administrative duties may include but are not limited to:

  • Maintaining a donor database
  • Managing grant application and reporting process
  • Processing donations and issuing donation acknowledgments
  • Generating monthly fundraising reports to evaluate fundraising metrics against specific goals
  • Maintaining eligibility on city, state, and federal grant platforms
  • Managing Guidestar, Google for Nonprofits, and Facebook for Nonprofits accounts
  • Creating and maintaining an archive of photos, testimonials, videos, and other assets for communications and fundraising campaigns.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree and minimum of 4+ years of work experience
  • Project Management
  • Critical thinking skills with the ability to take a concept from ideation and strategy to execution autonomously
  • Commitment to equity and inclusion
  • Excellent communication skills, writing ability, and digital savviness
  • Communications planning, press releases, marketing strategy, marketing copy, content development & strategy, content creation for social
  • Experience using digital publishing, messaging, and fundraising tools such as Mailchimp, Substack, Instagram, Slack, Give Lively
  • Experience with Salesforce and CRMs, comfortable using platforms and databases for donor stewardship and fundraising
  • Solid knowledge of social media optimization, utilizing paid promotion, consumer insights, hashtags, SEO, and other digital tools to increase performance.
  • Understanding of current fundraising best practices with analytical skills and a data-driven mindset
  • Comfortable with budgets and fiscal management
  • Comfortable with digital campaign data analysis
  • Experience working as a content creator and/or social media manager
  • Experience working with third-party vendor management and independent contractors
  • Bonus if you bring graphic design and video production experience

You care about (or are interested in learning more about) the mission of improving the lives of older adults and combating the growing impacts of the loneliness epidemic.

Where you’ll be working

This is a hybrid role with a minimum of 1-2 days in the office in Brooklyn.
