The University of Colorado Boulder Advancement department encourages applications for a Program Manager for Forever Buffs Student Outreach and Philanthropy! This role is critical to the engagement efforts for the CU Boulder Alumni Association and joins a team that focuses on alumni and student engagement, events, and marketing communications activities, budget management and advising the Herd Leadership Council (CU Boulder’s student alumni association). 
Under the guidance of the Associate Director, the Program Manager is tasked with supporting the programmatic planning and execution that achieves the unit’s goals in engaging students, promoting the reputation of the Alumni Association, and increasing impactful engagement for CU Boulder. This role will support key engagement activities associated with our student-facing events, student philanthropy events, as well as supporting the Events and Outreach team on various regional, local and virtual engagement activities, communications and stewardship activities for attendees, as well as being responsible for budgets. We are an Equal Opportunity employer, including veterans and individuals with disabilities.   What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be   Programmatic Oversight/Task Execution/Tactical Work 
  • Under the guidance of the Associate Director, contribute to and, at times, lead the planning and execution of signature student engagement programs, philanthropy, and events; work towards exercising autonomy in these areas. These signature events will include but are not limited to: Spirit Night during Fall Welcome, student Homecoming events, the Nearly Naked Mile philanthropy, and the fall and winter Herd Leadership Council student retreats. 
  • Implement and support the tactical implementation of the Alumni Association engagement and outreach activities as specified. 
  • Forecast, manage and supervise all budget expenditures for programs under position’s purview; work towards autonomy in this area. Works in coordination with accounting department to ensure all payments are received and accurately processed. 
  • In partnership with the Associate Director and team members, review the effectiveness of programs and make suggestions for modifications and improvements. 
  • Review event & engagement marketing and communications materials including but not limited to invitation/list generation, audience segmentation, special handling, registration, event communications, and post-engagement surveys. 
  • Regularly supervise and report engagement metrics as required meeting associated quarterly deadlines. 
  • Complete inventory and asset management for event marketing materials including trucks, trailer, golf cart, student shed, giveaway inventory and fleet of large student event marketing props. Working with the student leaders, supervise a comprehensive inventory management plan to ensure student giveaway items are stocked and explore new items to add. 
  • Serve as the event manager and student support for all student-facing alumni events. Based on the vision and strategy set forth by the Associate Director, you will be responsible for managing the conceptualization, design, attendee management (list generation & registration), marketing & communications, execution, and program management, including possible sourcing and management of student and professional volunteers, from pre-event to post. 
  • Manage student engagement follow-up and stewardship processes which may include writing follow-up communications and surveys, inputting and ensuring accuracy of contact reports, and ensuring students are classified in correct categories for further communication activities. 
  • Champion engagement of recent graduates by supporting transition year and commencement related activities such as Affinity Graduation ceremonies, Grad Bash, and more. 
  • Complete project briefs promptly for all projects under position’s purview. 
  • Direct student volunteers who co-lead event operations, set up and execution. 
  • Serve as a collaborative partner to campus entities such as New Student and Family Programs, the Center for Student Involvement, and others as needed and provide consistent flow of information regarding the team’s student engagement efforts. 
Other Engagement Duties as Assigned
  • Partner with campus partners to engage students and volunteers and allies to the Alumni Association. 
  • Meet annual contact report metrics. 
  • Represents Alumni Association at alumni engagement roundtable meetings, Board meetings and other campus and division meetings. Coming prepared to contribute and share your voice and insights with colleagues. 
  • Responsible for special projects as requested by management. 
  • Supports all Alumni Association staff members, demonstrates leadership by example and cultivates positive morale with all staff members. 
  • Completes other duties as needed. 
What We Can Offer    The salary range is $60,000 - $69,000 annually. Relocation assistance may be available within department guidelines.   What We Require 
  • A Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience).
  • 1+ years of professional, job-related experience.
  • A Valid U.S. Driver's License.
