Founded in 1921, the Netherland-America Foundation (NAF) seeks to further strengthen the bonds between the Netherlands and the United States by funding cultural, educational, and business exchanges between the two countries.  Franklin D. Roosevelt was one of the NAF’s founders.

Our programs include NAF-Fulbright Fellowships for talented Dutch and American scholars, internship programs for high-achieving low-income students, a student loan program and various programs in the arts, business, public policy, and historic preservation. The NAF raises funds primarily through special events, but also through membership contributions, grants, annual fund donations, major gifts, and general donations to support its mission and growing programs.

The NAF is hiring an Executive Director (ED) as its chief executive officer. Reporting to the Chair of the Board of Directors, the ED will have overall responsibility for the NAF’s general management and for the execution of its mission. We are looking for an enthusiastic leader with management and financial experience who is technically astute, can manage a team of five staff in New York, support development and fundraising efforts, support managing events and represent the organization.

Salary is commensurate with experience, and ranges between $125,000 – $175,000. Benefits include participation in the NAF’s 403(b) plan with employer match, as well as the option to participate in the NAF’s health plan (75% employer paid).  The ED is expected to work 3-4 days from our offices in New York.  The job requires occasional travel and after-hours work supporting the Chapters and the fundraisers.
