DIRECTOR OF INSTITUTIONAL ADVANCEMENT
The Director of Institutional Advancement provides strategic leadership for Ramona’s advancement initiatives, providing overall leadership, management, and coordination of the school’s fundraising and alumnae relations programs. The Director is responsible for all activities related to identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of annual, major, and planned gifts for parents, faculty, alumnae, friends, corporations and foundations. The aim of the Advancement program is to create a robust culture of engagement and philanthropy across the school and wider community to generate support for the education of the young women in the tradition of the Sisters of the Holy Names. The Director oversees the daily operations of the Advancement office and serves as a member of the school’s leadership team.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- In collaboration with the President, the Institutional Advancement committee of the Board of Trustees and the Advancement staff prepare an annual written comprehensive development plan for Ramona.
- Work in cooperation with the President, Board, Faculty, and Staff to develop annual fundraising strategies, identify new prospects, and plan effective solicitations for individuals, foundations, and corporations. For the annual fund, the scholarship program, and other special projects.
- Work with the Alumnae Relations Manager to develop and participate in the implementation of the annual alumnae relations plan.
- Identify, cultivate, and secure new Legacy Society donors and, where possible, seek written documentation of the estimated values of the planned give commitments.
- Prepare and monitor the Institutional Advancement Department budget.
- Develop and manage a portfolio of major gift prospects.
- Attend meetings of the Board of trustees and serve as the lead staff person for the Board’s Institutional Advancement Committee
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree; Master’s preferred; CFRE is a plus
- Five years of non-profit fundraising experience, preference given to experience with Catholic secondary schools
- Experience in soliciting and closing major charitable gifts
- Experience in developing and implementing annual giving, major gifts, planned giving, grants, and public relations programs.
- Experience in planning and implementing a capital campaign
- Ability to manage the Advancement staff and to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Excellent writing skillsProficient with Microsoft Office Suite and donor base software (Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge NXT). Familiarity with other fundraising platforms such as GiveSmart, Double the Donation, and iwave is a plus.
Salary: $90,000-$100,000 commensurate with years of experience
