Responsibilities

The Assistant Director of Donor Relations will work closely with the Director of Donor Relations and University Advancement leadership to execute stewardship and donor relations activities for major and high-priority donors. This individual will also help drive strategy for university-wide recognition societies. In addition, this person will research and write leadership acknowledgment letters for major donors and manage inventory of named spaces.

Donor Relations and Stewardship Programs

Works with the Director of Donor Relations and development officers to create personalized stewardship plans for major donors, manage high-priority and principal donor stewardship, create customized impact reports and help University Advancement leadership with special requests. This individual will also help drive strategy for university-wide recognition societies.

Writing Letters and Organizing Birthday and Milestone Recognition

Research and write leadership acknowledgment letters on behalf of University Advancement leadership. Additionally, assist University Advancement leadership with birthday, anniversary and celebratory acknowledgments or gifts.

Manage University-wide Inventory of Named Spaces

Collect all information necessary to create an inventory of all named spaces at FSU. Work with the gift services team to keep information current. Pull and analyze information from inventory as needed.

Act as the Donor Relations team liaison to other University Advancement teams.

Donor Communication

Serve as the Donor Relations Team’s point of contact for donor questions and issues received by phone and email. Receives, investigates and resolves questions as they arise.

Administrative Tasks

Appropriately log donor contact information in the constituent management system and keep development officers appraised of donor issues and questions. Collaborate with University Advancement communications staff to develop messaging and collateral that support donor relations. Document new departmental processes/procedures and update existing ones. Pursue continuing education and training as needed. Protect confidential information.  

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and four years’ experience or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to eight years.  

A valid Florida or Georgia Driver's License, or the ability to obtain.
