Lead transformative growth at a globally recognized nonprofit, shaping the Institute for the Study of War's development strategy and making a lasting impact on its mission to provide real-time, unbiased analysis of global conflicts.

Lindauer is proud to partner with the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) in its search for a dynamic and
experienced Chief Development Officer (CDO). The CDO will lead ISW's fundraising efforts as the organization continues to grow and expand its global impact as the most cited foreign policy think tank in the world.

The ideal candidate will have significant executive experience in nonprofit fundraising, strong leadership skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with Board members, staff, and donors. They must thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and demonstrate expertise in major gift fundraising, donor engagement, and development team management.

In this role, you will:
• Develop and execute comprehensive fundraising strategies, supporting ISW's growth and mission.
• Manage a portfolio of 30–50 top prospects and donors, focusing on major and principal gifts.
• Lead and develop the Development team, overseeing all fundraising activities and donor engagement.
• Collaborate closely with ISW leadership and the Board to expand and diversify the philanthropic pipeline.
• Oversee donor stewardship programs, ensuring strong relationships and tailored engagement.

The salary range for this position is $185,000 – $210,000.
