Grants Development Manager

Arlington Free Clinic is a community-based nonprofit organization committed to advancing health equity by providing free, whole-person healthcare for our neighbors who would otherwise lack access. We are seeking an experienced, mission-minded Grants Development Manager who will be responsible for all elements of the grant-seeking process; researching and cultivating funding prospects and opportunities, preparing LOIs and proposals, and accurately tracking and reporting on grant-supported activities to funders. The Grants Development Manager works collaboratively with the other members of the Development team as well as Program staff in furthering the financial resources of the organization in order to maximize the potential for growth and impact of Arlington Free Clinic.

 

You will be responsible for:

 

Developing and managing a comprehensive grants program to meet annually determined funding goals. Create an annual grants plan with measurable program goals; maintain calendar to ensure timely submission of letters of inquiry, proposals, and reports. Identify, develop, and write highly competitive foundation and corporate grant proposals and concept papers and produce customized letters of inquiry and reports Monitor progress of grant-funded projects to ensure successful implementation in accordance with grant contract terms Contribute to the development of data management, collection, reporting and program evaluation capacities within the organization Conduct research on funding opportunities with an emphasis on new sources of revenue for both general operating support and priority projects Provide accurate and timely documentation of grants income and work with financial staff to provide reports and information for accounting and planning purposes Build strong relationships with organization’s portfolio of current and potential foundation supporters. Develop and maintain individualized strategies of solicitation, cultivation and stewardship for each foundation and grant-funding corporation. We are looking for someone who:

 

Enjoys working collaboratively, as part of an integrated multidisciplinary team Has worked in or is committed to working in a community clinic with a health equity mission Is highly organized and can manage a variety of tasks simultaneously Possesses a strategic mindset with the capability to operate at a high level, while also being willing to roll up their sleeves and contribute to the day-to-day work of the small but mighty development team. Likes relationship building Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or higher In communications, business or related field Minimum of three years of successful foundation fundraising experience Knowledge and/or experience in health care, health policy, or public health a must Knowledge and/or experience in basic data management and program evaluation a plus Excellent written, verbal, listening and organizational skills Experience and demonstrated skill with data management and integration Proven ability to understand and execute complex instructions Proven track record of success working with  high-level donors, fundraising volunteers, and other key stakeholders Project management experience. Skilled writer with a background in communications Demonstrates initiative and ability to work with minimal supervision. Detail oriented and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
