Gift Planning Advisor

Part-Time

General Description:            

The Gift Planning Advisor role is a part-time position reporting to the Senior Director of Development in the Mount Vernon Development Department. The Gift Planning Advisor will manage a portfolio of donors/prospects with the goal of securing more planned and blended gifts.

Expected Hours:

10-15 hours per week, remote within the DMV area

Essential Duties:

  • Manage a caseload of prospects and donors that have self-identified interest in including Mount Vernon in their estate plans.  
  • Respond to donor and prospective donor inquiries; submit requests for general planned giving inquiry materials, specialized proposals, and legacy society welcome packages.
  • Update constituent relationship management plans with communications notes and moves management steps. 
  • Solicit and close gift planning agreements enrolling donors in the Ann Pamela Cunningham Legacy Society.
  • Participate in a weekly prospect review meeting with the Senior Director of Development. 

Qualifications

  • Extensive fundraising experience with particular expertise in gift planning and blended gifts.
  • An interest in the Mission of George Washington’s Mount Vernon with an eagerness to learn more and share its importance with others.
  • Ethical fundraising standards and practices.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Advanced degrees preferred.
  • Computer proficiency, including Tessitura, PG Calc, and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Successful track record in raising planned and blended gifts.
