The Associate Director of Engagement is a key member of the Breakthrough of Greater Philadelphia operational team who manages the external functions of the organization and reports to the Executive Director.
Development and Outreach
- Build and maintain strong, positive relationships with existing and prospective donors, deploying robust prospect research, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship action steps to expand the funding base.
- Oversee execution of annual events.
- Assist Executive Director in cultivating and stewarding major donors.
- Create volunteer survey to identify, cultivate, and register volunteers and other gift opportunities (time, talent, ties, treasure).
- Lead cultivation and stewardship of corporate/business partnerships.
- Manage and create stewardship opportunities for corporate/business sponsorships, e.g., Boston Consulting Group pro bono strategy project.
- Create an action plan for and implement events and annual corporate partner strategies.
- Work with the Communications Manager to execute social media appeals and outreach.
- Work with the Communications Manager to manage two annual direct-mail appeals from concept through mailing.
- Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
EITC
- Set strategy, design, and implement EITC program (individuals and businesses).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Two or more years of relevant professional experience
- At least one year of experience working with a relationship-management database system is preferred (e.g. Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce, Veracross)
- Knowledge of basic fundraising techniques and strategies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and facility with many styles of writing
- Strong technology skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong project-management skills
- Highly motivated self-starter, with proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Excellent organizational skills
- Strong work ethic
- Discretion when handling sensitive personal information about constituents
- Impeccable attention to detail
- Flexible team player with strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work occasional nights and weekends
