I. Position Summary

World Monuments Fund (WMF) is seeking a proven Human Resources professional for the role of Human Resources Manager. Reporting to the Chief Financial and Administrative Officer, the Human Resources Manager will oversee all aspects of managing our global workforce including: recruiting, managing and implementing employee benefits where appropriate, overseeing contracts for our global staff, developing and maintaining internal staff related documentation, and providing strategic consultation on a wide range of staffing matters. The position is responsible for building upon and growing the WMF approach to creating an equitable culture that reflects the diversity and inclusivity of our organization.

This is a full-time, exempt position based at WMF’s global headquarters in New York.

II. Responsibilities 

HR Administration

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to align HR policies with organizational objectives.
  • Provide administrative support for HR functions, including maintaining employee records, managing documentation, and handling routine human resources paperwork. 
  • Assist in the execution of existing or development and implementation of new HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and best practices. 
  • Stay informed of changes in labor laws and ensure organizational compliance. 
  • Oversee and maintain contracts for global staff. 

Recruitment & Talent Acquisition

  • Assist in the full recruitment lifecycle, from the development of the job descriptions, posting of job openings, screening of resumes, and coordination of interviews and background checks/references checks. 
  • Work closely with managers to identify staffing needs and develop effective recruitment strategies. 

Benefits Administration 

  • Manage and administer WMF’s employee benefits, including healthcare registrations, retirement savings, and insurance. 

Onboarding & Offboarding 

  • Coordinate and facilitate the onboarding process for new employees, ensuring a smooth integration into the organization – including conducting all new staff orientations and developing training standards. 
  • Manage the offboarding process, conduct exit interviews and process necessary paperwork. 

Performance Management 

  • Manage the performance evaluation process including establishing a timeline, evaluation template, target salary increases, and making any needed changes to payroll. 
  • Provide guidance and support to managers on performance-related matters. 

Employee Relations 

  • Address employee relations matters, providing guidance and support to employees and managers. 
  • Strengthen the WMF approach to creating an equitable culture that reflects the diversity and inclusivity of our organization. 
  • Contribute to fostering a positive workplace culture with employee engagement initiatives. 

III. Qualifications 

  • A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, is preferred. 
  • 3-5 years of nonprofit HR experience. 
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification is preferred. 
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations. 
  • Tech savvy – with expert proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite – especially Excel and Outlook. 
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.  
  • Proven ability to navigate complex interpersonal relationships, promote positive staff morale and culture. 
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. 
  • Must demonstrate sound judgment and discretion, ability to manage confidential information. 
  • Must be able to work well under pressure while multi-tasking. 
  • Impeccable attention to detail.

V. Compensation and Benefits 

The World Monuments Fund offers a comprehensive and highly competitive compensation and benefits package, including paid time off, wellness and sick time off, holiday time off, and a multitude of other insurance benefits such as medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and a fully comprehensive retirement plan. 

The annual salary for the role is anticipated to range from $75,000-$85,000, commensurate with experience and accomplishments.
