Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy is seeking a frontline fundraiser to join our team as a full-time Associate Director of Individual Giving. A key member of the development and volunteer department, the Associate Director of Individual Giving will be a dynamic and strategic fundraiser with a proven track record of identifying, securing, and stewarding individual donors. Reporting to the Senior Director of Development, the Associate Director will be responsible for stewarding a portfolio of individual donors and growing a newly restructured membership program through targeted, frontline activities and solicitations.
Core Responsibilities
Lead direct fundraising and stewardship for a portfolio of individual donors and manage and grow the organization's membership base.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive individual giving strategy to meet or exceed annual fundraising goals
- Proactively plan and personally manage and grow a portfolio of existing and potential individual donors ($2,500 - $25,000 range) using best practices in moves management and donor meetings to identify and cultivate qualified relationships; solicit, close and steward gifts.
- Guide cultivation and solicitation of individual prospects for senior leadership and members of the board of directors. Brief and prepare solicitors and prospective donors; schedule meetings and park tours; prepare presentation materials, follow up and strategize stewardship
- Become fluent in Conservancy programs and provide meaningful tailored donor materials to support individual cultivation, stewardship and wider-scale impact communications
- In collaboration with Senior Director of Development, steward and grow the Conservancy’s two main donor groups: Bridge Council, mid-level donor group launched in 2024, and Waterfront Society, major donor circle.
- Develop and implement strategies to grow the Conservancy membership program, including managing membership benefits, create and implement strategies for digital and print membership campaigns
- Oversee donor acquisition, renewals and year-end appeals for annual giving, including producing solicitation plans and schedules, writing and editing copy, execution of mailings, supervising internal and external vendors, developing targeted mailing lists, and evaluating effectiveness of appeals.
- Ensure quality and flawless execution of compelling donor cultivation and stewardship events. Collaborate closely with the Special Events Manager for Conservancy’s two signature fundraising events as needed.
- Supervise temporary staff, volunteers, and interns and provide management and leadership support to senior director of development for team functions as needed
