Anticipated Base Compensation: $80,000 - $95,000

Summary Description

The Prospect Research Manager is responsible for maintaining gift officer portfolios, conducting prospect research and assisting the Major Gift team with day-to-day needs and tasks. Working closely with the Chief Advancement Officer and frontline fundraisers, this role plays a crucial role in managing the moves management process for all fundraisers on staff, assisting gift officers in preparing for and wrapping up prospect meetings and building the major gift pipeline.  

Essential Functions and Specific Duties:

  • Manages gift officers portfolios through a detailed  moves management process.
  • Utilizes best practices in prospect research to recommend new portfolio assignments to gift officers.  
  • Conducts research using web-based resources and third-party databases.
  • Prepares briefing documents and summary reports for Head of School, Chief Advancement Officer and other gift officers upon request.
  • Utilizes Raiser’s Edge database and record keeping systems for information storage and retrieval.
  • Assists Database Manager and Major Gift team in producing targeted prospect lists.
  • Responsible for managing and safeguarding confidential information for high net worth individuals, ensuring the highest standards of privacy and discretion at all times.
  • Perform with a team approach, other duties as assigned. 

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree is required; advanced degree preferred.
  • At least 3 years of experience in an advancement office, with 1 year of prospect research and operations experience.
  • Experience with Raiser’s Edge is highly preferred.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Google Workspace and aptitude for learning new technology.
  • Knowledge of third-party wealth screening databases, such as LexisNexis as WealthX, is required.
