Responsibilities
This position is responsible for managing up to five alumni affinity networks as strategically assigned to meet the expectations of diversity, equity, and inclusion in alumni engagement. Additionally, this position will be responsible for creating comprehensive programming, special events for their assigned networks and assist with reunion planning and other major events for all Alumni Association networks. This position reports to the Associate Director of Volunteer Engagement.
Develop strategies for meaningful engagement and managing day-to-day needs for existing alumni networks including the FSU Pride Alumni Network, Asian American Alumni Network, Jewish Alumni Network, the Hispanic/Latinx Alumni Network, Veterans Alumni Society, and a potential new alumni network that will be created based on the growing needs of our alumni base. Implement overall alumni engagement strategies, priorities and goals that include alumni leadership, comprehensive programming, and meetings.
Responsible for ensuring best practices for management and development of their networks to meet the strategic needs of the FSU Alumni Association and the university; provide direct event support or guidance as needed and dictated by level of engagement; leverage engagement to identify emerging leaders and a pipeline for deeper engagement with FSU. Responsible for attending assigned networks’ meetings and events. Some of these will occur after hours during the week and on weekends. Manages a volunteer handbook, including resources, financial guidelines, communication resources and engagement methods.
Assists with reunion planning for the Emeritus Alumni Society, Young Alumni Reunion, and other alumni homecoming events. Assists with planning other major events for all Alumni Association Alumni Networks.
Manage communication, marketing, and budget needs for networks. Ensures that all Alumni Network websites are updated, and volunteers and events are recorded in CRM.
Conducts research on current alumni network strategies, trends, best practices across peer institutions to increase the overall number of alumni participating in our networks and volunteer groups. Builds relationships with counterparts at peer institutions.
Establishes and builds relationships with all Alumni Network volunteers and help develop a strategy for volunteer leaders to successfully lead their networks. Supports the Programs and Outreach department and Alumni Association as directed by the Associate Director of Volunteer Engagement, Director of Programs and Outreach and the President & CEO.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and four years of experience; or a high school diploma/equivalent and experience equal to eight years. (Note: post-high school education can substitute for experience at the equivalent rate.)
A valid Florida or Georgia Driver's License, or the ability to obtain.
