Forgotten Harvest (www.forgottenharvest.org) seeks a seasoned, enthusiastic and visionary Chief Philanthropy Officer to provide leadership for a multi-faceted, complex fundraising program. Successful candidates must bring a minimum of 10 years of experience in fundraising and be well versed in corporate, foundation, individual, events and direct mail programs.  The Chief Philanthropy Officer will bring experience leading a large fundraising team and will be called upon to provide leadership, direction and strategic vision while also rolling up their sleeves as a colleague to manage a portfolio of donor relationships on behalf of Forgotten Harvest.  The successful candidate will have proven capital campaign experience and be well versed in all aspects of nonprofit management including governance, board relations and finances. 

 

In addition to management and leadership responsibilities, the Chief Philanthropy Officer will serve as a member of the organization’s senior leadership team and work closely with the Chief Executive Officer, Board members and other leaders throughout southeastern Michigan.  Excellent oral and written communication skills are a must, along with critical thinking, creativity, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities without supervision.  The Philanthropy Officer must be able to represent Forgotten Harvest throughout the community, advancing its work by  developing new relationships and partnerships.

 

In addition to 10 years of experience in fundraising/development, a Bachelor’s Degree is required along with evidence of career progression to senior leadership roles within an organization.  The salary range for the Chief Philanthropy Officer is $160,000 -- $175,000.
