Senior Development Officer 

Reports to: Chief Executive Officer

About Us: 

2Gether-International (2GI) is the largest accelerator for disabled entrepreneurs, dedicated to creating economic pathways for people with disabilities. 

Position Summary:

The Senior Development Officer will be responsible for driving 2GI’s comprehensive fundraising strategy, leveraging strong relationships with existing funders and identifying new opportunities to expand 2GI’s impact. The ideal candidate will not only have experience managing $1 million+ relationships, but also bring a holistic approach to nonprofit development, focusing on corporate partnerships, government and foundation grants, major gifts, and event-based fundraising.

2GI is the largest accelerator for disabled entrepreneurs, dedicated to fostering innovation and inclusion in the entrepreneurial space. For 2025, 2GI has a total revenue goal of $2 million. We have already secured $1.7 million in funding from key partners including Comcast, IDB, Google, and NDI. However, we aim to deepen existing relationships and build new partnerships to secure an additional $300K-$800K to achieve our ambitious goals.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Strategic Fundraising Leadership: Implement and manage a fundraising plan to meet the 2025 goal of $1.8 million. Leverage relationships with existing donors, ensuring their continued support and stewardship (MOVES Management).
  • Identify and prospect in order to secure new funding opportunities to raise $600K - $800K in additional revenue.
  • Corporate Partnerships: Expand 2GI’s corporate partnerships with companies in sectors such as tech, healthcare, finance, and telecommunications. Enhance partnerships through customized sponsorship tiers and employee engagement opportunities like mentorship and volunteering programs.
  • Government and Foundation Grants: Build on existing relationships to secure grants from government agencies and foundations aligned with workforce development and disability inclusion. Develop high-quality proposals for potential funders.
  • Gala and Event Fundraising: Lead efforts to maximize revenue from 2GI’s annual gala, with a goal of $400K in event-based fundraising. Cultivate relationships with existing gala sponsors and identify new high-level sponsors. Manage post-event stewardship to deepen donor engagement.
  • Major Donor Engagement: Cultivate high-net-worth individuals, building on their interest in disability inclusion and economic mobility. Develop personalized engagement strategies to secure contributions from major donors.
  • Donor and Partner Stewardship: Use MOVES management strategies to enhance the experience of existing donors, including personalized communications, impact reports, and creative recognition opportunities. Ensure all donors and partners are thanked and retained through structured stewardship plans.
  • Data and Impact Reporting: Track progress toward the$1.8 million goal, providing regular updates to leadership. Use data-driven insights to adjust strategies and inform future fundraising efforts.

Required Qualifications:

  • Proven success in nonprofit fundraising, with a track record of raising $1M+ annually.
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing relationships with both existing funders and new prospects.
  • Strong knowledge of corporate sponsorships, major gifts, grant writing, and event-based fundraising.
  • Familiarity with moves management and donor stewardship best practices.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in disability inclusion and/or entrepreneurship sectors is a plus but not required.

  • You have strong project management skills and a history of managing projects or campaigns that involve multiple stakeholders and lots of moving pieces.
  • You have exceptional writing skills. Strong communication and presentation design skills are also a big plus.

Logistics:

  • Location: Washington, DC (hybrid)
  • Travel: 25-50% for key events and meetings
  • Compensation: $90,000-$110,000, commensurate with experience. It includes a competitive benefits package and professional development opportunities.
