Board Member—Development Chair

Consequence Forum, a nonprofit organization dedicated to addressing the human consequences of war and geopolitical violence through literature, art, and community events, is seeking a passionate and experienced Development Chair to join our Board of Directors. This new volunteer role is crucial in shaping our fundraising strategy and ensuring the continued growth and impact of our mission.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement a comprehensive, multi-year fundraising strategy aligned with the organization's mission and goals
• Collaborate with the board and staff to set realistic fundraising goals and key performance indicators
• Leverage technology and data analytics to optimize donor segmentation, personalize communication, and identify future giving trends
• Identify and cultivate relationships with potential donors, foundations, and corporate sponsors
• Organize and oversee fundraising events and campaigns
• Implement best practices in donor stewardship and recognition programs
• Explore innovative fundraising channels, such as crowdfunding and peer-to-peer initiatives
• Work with the marketing team to create compelling fundraising materials
• Ensure compliance with fundraising regulations and maintain ethical standards
• Provide regular reports on fundraising progress and outcomes to the board
• Mentor and develop junior development staff or volunteers

Ideal Candidate:

• Passionate about Consequence Forum's mission and goals
• Experienced in nonprofit fundraising and development
• Strong networking and relationship-building skills
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities
• Proficient in fundraising CRM platforms (e.g., DonorPerfect, Salesforce Nonprofit Success Pack)
• Skilled in leveraging data analytics tools for donor segmentation and trend analysis (e.g., Google Analytics)
• Able to commit 15-20 hours per month to this volunteer role
