Job Details

The Development Director works closely with our CEO to spearhead fundraising efforts for the Sexual Violence Prevention Association (SVPA). The Development Director is supported by and oversees a team of 3-5 co-ops, volunteers, and interns. This role will have a significant impact as we expand and grow our work preventing sexual violence systemically. 

 

Responsibilities

  1. Lead and expand the overall development efforts of the SVPA
  2. Improve and implement a funding strategy, following the SVPA’s needs and goals
  3. Manage development team including 3-5 co-ops, interns, and volunteers
  4. Develop relationships and strategies to reach donors, granters, corporations, and other funders
  5. Plan and execute fundraising including crowdfunding, events, and campaigns
  6. Engage our network and empower our stakeholders to engage their network
  7. Maintain and grow our base of small, mid, and large donors; provide donor management
  8. Research and write grant applications and other fundraising proposals; sustain and bolster our grants database
  9. Manage corporate social responsibility strategies including corporate sponsorship, charity streams, and local business partnerships
  10. Generate reports and other materials to demonstrate our effectiveness including our annual report
  11. Work closely with the CEO to determine the SVPA’s broad strategy and goals; provide fundraising plans to support said goals

 

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience with nonprofit development including:
    • Fundraising, crowdfunding, event planning
    • Donor management and stewardship
    • Grantwriting and grants management
    • Corporate social responsibility
  • 3+ years of experience in leadership or management
  • Bachelor's degree or two additional years of full-time work experience
  • Preferred: Experience with ClickUp, Excel, and grants.gov

 

Details

  • Pay: $90,000 - $105,000
  • Time: 35 hours per week
  • Mostly virtual with occasional in-person meetings.

We wrote and advocated for the DEFIANCE Act, a federal bill to address and prevent deepfake pornography.  It passed the Senate unanimously and is pending in the House of Representatives.


Policy Map & SVPA Score
We published our policy map and SVPA Score analyzing the quantity and quality of prevention legislation in each state, as well as assessments of K-12 schools, colleges, and companies.


Congress Roundtable
Our Founder and CEO spoke at Congress alongside Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and actress/activist Sophia Bush.  They advocated for the prevention of digital sexual violence.


SORVO Report
We published SORVO, a framework and report detailing how oppressive groups weaponize sexual violence, and accusations thereof, to commit systemic oppression.


Dept. of Education Letter
We wrote a letter urging the Department of Education to issue new guidance for Title IX in K-12 schools and colleges to prevent digital sexual harassment. 37 organizations signed on.


Supreme Court Amicus Brief
Our advocacy played a role in the Supreme Court's Rahimi decision which will prevent sexual violence by upholding firearm restrictions for perpetrators of interpersonal violence.


5 R's of Digital Bystander Intervention
We published the 5 R's of Digital Bystander Intervention to prevent digital sexual violence by empowering everyday people to take action using safe strategies.


White House, European Union, & More
Our Founder and CEO spoke at the first international summit on deepfake abuse and the European Union's INACH Conference.  They were also invited to the White House.
