Fundraising Manager
Job Description
The Center for Excellence in Education (CEE) seeks an experienced fundraising professional to join its Development Team.
Based in McLean, VA, CEE is a 501c3 nonprofit organization dedicated to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education. The Center is a GuideStar Platinum Charity and maintains the top rating from Great Nonprofits.
CEE’s programs are provided cost-free to participating students and teachers. CEE encourages leadership and innovation among top STEM students, enhances STEM teacher professional development, and expands the STEM career pipeline to underserved rural and urban students.
Responsibilities
- Generate revenue from corporate, foundation, and individual prospects. Research and write grant applications, funding proposals, and targeted solicitations. Record research and grant-making activities in development database. Assist with organizational fundraising and institutional advancement activities.
Qualifications
Required:
- Minimum 2-4 years of fundraising experience.
- Demonstrated success in revenue generation. Experience in varied methods of securing financial support for nonprofit organizations. Excellent computer skills including internet search and Microsoft Office Suite. Outstanding personal, written, and oral communication skills. College degree.
Preferred:
- Proficiency in Raiser’s Edge. Personal interest in and commitment to STEM education.
The successful candidate will be a self-starter that works well independently, contributes to a bottom-line focused team, takes direction well, can prioritize workload, and ensures deadlines are met. Experience should include navigating complex organizations, managing projects, reporting results, and communicating internally and externally.
Salary commensurate with experience.

- Full-time, some remote. M-F 8-hour shift
Ability to commute/relocate:
- McLean, VA 22102. Reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required). Office in Tysons/McLean served by three Metro stations. Free parking
